12/12 is my birthday too. Mines a little more recent than your grandads though. It was Gandy when I lived in countries that listed birthdays day/month/year.

Some bad math going on here. If he was born 150 years ago he would have been 69 years old in 1940. Probably a little old for WWII.

My grandfather was also born in 1871 and died in 1919 of Spanish Flu. My grandmother was 13 years younger than him and was his student. They apparently married as soon as she graduated at age 18.
