Have never purchased an optic but have purchased rifle components/accessories from them – A+ in my book. My experience also. That V4 4-16 for $700 is tempting as heck. Awesome scope

Thanks for all of the replies regarding RedHawk, every reply was positive . RedHawk has some great deals on optics. I ordered a Zeiss scope and they offered two day shipping for $7.95, I should have the scope Saturday. MWT

Be sure to play with the turret zero stop (assuming you didn’t get the 3-12 version) BEFORE you head to the range. Once set up, it’s awesome, a really really nice turret, but it’s finicky to set up that first time. I suggest setting it to give some extra ability to move POI down from where it’s set from the factory. The stop prevents moving POI down (duh) and on one of my three big V4’s*, the first one, I needed more “down” for the initial zero, so there I was dealing with it right off the bat on the hood of my truck, without my reading glasses, lol.... better to figure it out on a well-lit bench.
*Zeiss initially brought a 1-4x24 V4 to the US market, it’s basically a killer AR15 sight, but they didn’t have the ‘nads to market it as such, and it’s now discontinued. Two of those were actually my first V4’s. They ROCK.

That V4 4-16 from RHR is what my first time elk Hunter young guy used this year. Already had killed several pigs with it on his 7mm RM. shot a nice 4x4 buck at 200 yards then a good cow at 360 yards. Excellent shooting particularly compared to where he started a couple of years ago. I’d by the 50mm version of that one immediately if I were in the market for a scope for open country hunting.

I’ll just say it once more for effect... the 4-16x50mm V4 is a considerably superior scope over the 44mm version... I have both. The difference up in the higher power settings is pretty dramatic. And, the 50mm easily clears in Talley Low’s on a M700 and a Kimber 8400, Butler Creek caps and all.
I have a customer that owes me a bunch, well over $10k, at the moment and there’s a check in the mail... have no idea how much they chose to defer into 2022 but if they paid their invoices up current, I’m gonna order yet another of the 50’s. I feel like I’ve found my scope, and IDK if they are a bit goofy looking on slender rifles. They WORK.
