I have both, plus wood burning Franklin stoves and a big stone fireplace up the center of the cabin for emergencies. They are all good.

My mini-split is made by Fujitsu and has a wonderful warranty.

Thanks Norm. Ill do some checking further on the mini split. Seems like a good option for cooling and heating.

Kerosene heater or pellet stove will also look into.

Don't think much of fire places. Last one we had could lower the room temp by 12 degrees in a half hour. Too much heat going up the chimney. Closed it up and put a TV in the space. We're into good free standing catalytic type wood stoves.
