Supposed to be starting EDMR treatment next week. Looking forward to seeing how that works out. I appreciate the responses. Even the not so helpful suggestions. Patrick

And if he gets professional counseling it can fugk him later.
Get laid. Get hammered. Talk to a buddy that goes to church a lot. Nothing like watching a librarians eyes roll back in her head for setting things right again. LOL.

Did my first EMDR session today. Not saying it's magic but it's kinda magic. Seems to have really helped. Looking forward to going back. Feel better right now than I've felt in years. Anybody having the same issues I strongly suggest looking into it. Patrick

God to hear, had to look that one up.
If it works.......................it works, right?
Good luck

Glad to read that the EMDR is helping. Keep your friends close, ignore the [bleep] as there will always be some of those around no matter where you turn. ha
I'm weary of all the drugs they pump folks full of ..... looking for a magic pill to just make things better instead of doing things the right way. Finally found a doc that believes like I do, so they ARE out there. For insomnia.... try Ashwaganda. Seems to help me. But my sleep issues are nowhere near yours either. Worth a shot.
My BIL fought for decades. He said his biggest hurdle was guilt. Guilt for things he did and guilt because he made it out alive and so many of his friends didn't. IF this rings true... you have GOT to forgive yourself and move on. Guilt will consume a person if not checked.
Excellent suggestion earlier about getting involved in something where you are helping others. I've found that to be true. Every time I do something 'selfless' it seems to clear my head and put things in perspective for me. Peace of mind seems to come along with that, for me at least.
Good luck and Godspeed on this 'journey'.
Whether you tell yourself you CAN do it.... or you CAN'T.... you're correct.
