After giving away my old Win. 94 truck gun it was replaced with a new 336 in .30-.30

took it on the river with us this weekend and it rained steady the whole time.

Got home went to clean it up, and now the hammer won't go down?

What gives, worked the cross bolt safety several time, lever closes fine, have had the feeder bar stay stuck up before and keep the lever from closing but this the hammer just won't go down and the trigger acts like it's not setting.

Getting ready to tear it down but figured with all the experience with 336's here I'd be foolish not to ask if others have experienced this and what gives?

Appreciate any feedback............now where's my gunsmithing screwdrivers?????

I bet if you pull it apart you will find something stuck at the base of the hammer. I would strip it down and clean it up good, if its been in the rain for an entire weekend it needs it anyway.

Let us know what ya find.

nothing stuck but some rust that needed to be cleaned up, I hate it when you don't know for sure, but I guess that had to be it.

took the bolt out while I was at it, she's working pretty slickery now for a new girl, nothing a 1000 rounds won't cure,

thanks for the response passport
