We have them here in GA too. On Tuesday’s the Orange Stuff is pretty good. On Thursdays it’s the Blue Stuff.

I grew up there in the 70’s and 80’s. Like all of Middle Tennessee, it ain’t what it used to be. So depending on where a person is moving there from, it might be fine. My guess is if you asked most Middle Tennesseans today, they’ve moved here from somewhere else, usually from the northeast. Not many native Tennesseans left.

Northwest side of Montgomery county, you’ve got Ft. Campbell, and the culture is a true “melting pot”.

Northeast side used to be good farmland, but now subdivisions occupy most formerly good arable tracts.

Southeast side where I grew up is much the same, most large tracts are gone now. I don’t venture back much except to visit the very few old friends that stayed.

Southwest side toward Dickson might be the last bastion of sanity left there, but I wouldn’t bet on it for long.

So, depending on where you’re moving there from, you may love it.

I was at Ft. Campble for a relatively short time. I liked the area. The people were mostly friendly and there was great BBQ everywhere. I did notice that the winters were fairly short but it does snow. If snow makes you happy. I can easily see why folks want to move there. Clarksville and Oak Grove were typical military towns. Just like Killeen at Ft. Hood and the area around Ft. Brag or Ft. Knox. If that turns you off then look elsewhere. If I lived in Minneapolis or upstate Michigan and wanted to get out of the snow but be able to drive home in less than 24 hours, then middle Tennessee would be a good compromise.

Just plan on fitting in. If you want to bring your bad voting habits from a more liberal State, you probably aren't going to like it.
