Fellas,

Well, seeing that it is hunting season of some sort pretty much everywhere, I thought I would press back into service this thread and see what people are taking.

Post'm up, like too see some nice heads.

I'll start it off by posting my first buck of the year, which I took this past Monday with my muzzloader and also repost the dandy 150 class buck that 163bc took this past Friday.

Not a monster, just a nice basic 8pt frame with split brow tines to make him a 9 pointer. Dressed 135lbs.

[Linked Image]
Now this IS a monster...150 class, dressed 190lbs.

Real nice buck, real beauty.

Getting ready for the Pa. opener ?? I will be heading up to Pike County, to our cabin. Got all of the essentials ready......gun sighted in, gear packed and of course the most important thing.......poker change !!!

I won't be out for the opener. Burned all my vacation in WY and vacation with the family. I still have 4 days of archery to do my thing. Passed on a 2.5 yr old 7 pointer this morning. May regret that til years end but there is still plenty of hunting left. I'll take my wife out this saturday and the two saturdays in gun season. Second archery starts after Christmas and I usually have alot of fun then. Not too many idiots want to sit in the cold all day so the woods is fairly vacant.

That is my favorite season in PA ... Second season archery, for the reason you mentioned plus some others.

Heres a funny one of my bird dog pointing a squirrel in a park one day, dureing a baseball game my kid was in. Smart dog, always uses lampposts as cover.

Here is my buck from last year--130 class 8 point... wish I had a better pic, but didn't have the camera with me in the field.

Here is the one I'm looking for this year--He's at a feeder earlier this fall and got caught by a trail camera..I'm guessing he's completely nocturnal, as no sign of him since...

Jamison,

Don't know what he would score, but he's a whopper!

Hope you get him.

Yours is a dandy buck as well. Congrats.

Dads never get tired of showing off pictures of there kids. My daughter didn`t shoot this ram, but was there at the kill. She cooked and wrangled for an outfitter and would spend the day out with the hunter and guide, whenever possible. That is her Ruger .308 though. [Linked Image]

Bunny,

You must be a proud dad !!

Here is a pic of my son and his cow elk. I took him on this hunt after he graduated HS. Made a real nice shot with his .270.

Elk was taken on the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation in NM.

Here is a real unique picture of the two bucks I killed on our hunt club last season (2002).

My brother put it together with some software package that he has. It some how blended two different pictures together into one.

Thought that it was pretty neat and worth posting.

Though not big game, this was my first grouse taken earlier this year and probably my best field pic.

Here's the 8pt my dad got with a bow this year.

Here's two small deer I shot about 20 seconds apart this year. [Linked Image]

I forgot my camera on the day I shot my elk so this is all I have to show for it!
