I used to read Water's Pet Loads a lot before the interweb took over. I have one of the same and being from the pre metric era, it still gets a lot of use. Overall though, my favorite line of books is anything by Elmer Keith. Had the good fortune to meet him twice in the early to mid 70's.
Being over gunned beats the alternative, Keith

Any shot you want by Art Alphin. Regardless of how you feel about the man.

I have a lot. But I sold off the Jack O'Connor, Townsend Whelen, and Charles Askins Jr. They just wore thin on me. I'm still fond of anything by Keith. If I had to pick my favorite it would be African Rifles and Cartridges by Pondoro Taylor
