I’ve got 2-4 rifles that I may let go. Nothing special. All deer/elk calibers So I’m thinking August to September time frame. Or not sell at all. Since I love them all.

The fact that you recently purchased several, this suggests this is a good time to buy... ergo a bad time to sell. Earlier in the fall, or after the Christmas credit cards are paid off would be better.

Depends on the gun. If it is a stock type hunting rifle then a few weeks before hunting season is usually good. Right before or right after Christmas can also be a good time. If it is collectible or something special anytime of the year is good. A collector is always looking for that niche rifle that will finish his collection or that special piece that isn't made anymore. If your hurting for money and as a last resort you have to sell something any time is good if the price is right. Getting in that situation should be avoided at all cost.

Pawn shops fill up with hunting rifles after the season ends and just before Christmas. In the early fall, many hunting rifles are purchased.

Depends on the rifle, caliber and area/audience.
A 358 Winchester sells like hotcakes here, but is a tough sell on other forums.
For the majority of rifles, I don't think there is a bad time because of the reach of most forums, there is always a buyer.
Then there is that niche rifle you built to specifically scratch an itch that has a narrow audience and it may take longer to find the right buyer.

To me it depends on several factors. What you are selling, where you are located and there has to be someone who wants it. Couple years ago there was a guy i knew from work who wanted to sell a couple rifles so i went and looked. Both were FN Mausers both in 8x57 with 400 rounds of Federal ammo, dies, 600 virgin Remington brass and 4000 bullets, most of them were Barnes. One had a very nice Boyds stock with a Ziess 4x. The other a synthetic stock set up with a EER Burris. Both had Timney triggers. Gave 600 for everything. Recently sold the one with the Boyds stock for 1200.00. The buyer wanted it in a bad way. I like the one i kept it shoots great and I can use a stripper to load the thing.

Rifles are selling great right now I wouldn't wait. I sold my 25 year old Remington 700 ADL in 7mm for about $150 more than I thought it would bring. I replaced it with a TC Venture in 308 with a nice scope a few weeks later. Gun shops around me don't have many "Hunting" Rifles in stock. Mostly 22, 22 mag, 223, and lots of 6.5 CM, but no ammo. Anything 30-06, 308, 7mm, 25-06 would move right now.

Sell While Biden is here and right after he gives another “booster” check.
Keep in mind, you’ll likely get a 30% increase once the Ugandan giant VP gets office
Do it before the Dems lose congress also…
Of course with inflation the way it is trending…. We may need some of those guns for liberty.
