My home owners only pays 5000$ for theft on firearms.

I asked them to check on some type of other policy to cover theft. What are some of you doing about insurance? and if so who do you use?

Thanks !

You should be able to get a rider on your homeowners that covers firearms.

I hit a dead-end trying to get a rider on my homeowners beyond $5k. After comparing several insurers I went with Collectibles Insurance (www.collectinsure.com). Easy app and they don't require an itemized inventory or serial numbers.

Wow, the quote for my firearms is a little higher than my collector car insurance on my '68 Chevy pickup and 2002 SS camaro. 361$

I have used Core-Vens for years. Seems like mine runs about $350 per year for $50,000 coverage.

I decided to invest in a decent fire proof safe. Will not keep a determined safe cracker out. But will stop your average crack head. Hasbeen

I've found riders cost enough for me to buy and new rifle about every two years. Spent my bucks on safe instead.

Reading my paperwork from my recent policy with Collectables Ins which showed the limits blocked in at the page bottom. It shows a $25,000 limit on unscheduled firearms (WTF) even though I pay for $100,000 ins. Anyone have any information on that. GW

I'd be interested in hearing how well any of these pay off. My experience with insurance in general is that they are happy to take your money but stingy at giving any out. What did Tom Petty sing? "Take back your insurance, ain't nothing guaranteed." I can afford to replace my guns if anyone steals them. Though crime is pretty low in my area. Living on a one lane, dead-end private road, with several watchful neighbors, no strange car comes in or out without a few sets of eyes on them and someone coming up to them with a "Can I help you?" Meaning, WTF are you doing here? Even the police, on the rare occasion that they come down our road, get the same treatment.

I have country financial insurance and have a specific rider for my firearms. I submit an itemized list of guns and upgrades with values every 6-12 mos for update purposes. Costs me about $100 a year for about 25k scheduled. Never had a claim with them, but the scheduling process was painless.
