Looking for a new "bedside" gun, 9mm most likely, but would be open to .45 and 40SW, if it's worth it. Would set it up with Light and Laser dot. Currently have a Full size PX4 9mm with TLR2, and would probably get similar setup. I carry a PPS M2, and really like the ergos and trigger, vs Glock, XD, etc, which don't fit me well for some reason.
I was thinking PPQ and found out they are going out and PDP is the new thing. Not so sure how I feel about it, but haven't shot one to complain either. Did handle a HK-VP9 and felt good, but couldnt try the trigger
Am I missing anything in this line-up?

The HK-VP9 and the Sig 365XL seem to be getting the most press these days.

I have shot a regular Sig 365 and preferred the trigger on my PPS M2. I was more accurate too, not sure that the XL will improve that much. Again, this will be for bedside bump in the night, SHTF handgun, not to replace my EDC.

Yes, size won't be an issue for that use.

Was as SHOT last week. Walther came out with a PDP pro. It has new trigger, flared mag well, threaded barrel and is optics ready. It is hands down the best trigger I've ever felt in a striker fired pistol. Like not even close to anything else. Ergonomics of the PDP's are great (doesn't really matter to me - I'm only holding it a few minutes at a time), ambi-everything and 18 round mags. It's still on the boat from Deutschland, but was told they should be here anytime. I've competed with a G34 for 5 years because I couldn't find anything that was SO MUCH better that it was worth buying a new gun, changing holsters, mags (ten of them), and mag holders, until I tried this PDP pro. Edited to add this link. https://waltherarms.com/2022/01/10/walther-pdp-pro-sd/

For "bedside" suppressor is very desirable if one can obtain one, therefore, the choice is either PDP pro or VP9 Tactical. The H&K has high sights, but I am not sure they are high enough for suppressor or just designed to work as backup to holosight. The flared mag well on Walther will make reloading easier which is not a bad thing. Both 9x19 and .45ACP are available in subsonic suppressor friendly loading. Not sure about .40S&W.

I have the knowledge that the OP didn't ask about suppressors or "holosights". I'm "sure" of it.

I have the knowledge that the OP didn't ask about suppressors or "holosights". I'm "sure" of it. He did not ask for ear protection recommendation for his new "bedside" gun, therefore, suggestion of suppressor capable gun was obvious.

"Obvious" only if we assume he's a [bleep] cockmonkey like you. Have you ever fired a handgun in indoor room w/o hearing protection?

Yes, and at the time, hearing loss was the least of my concerns.
