How do you identify which variant of the Model 52 one has. I got one from a friends estate and would like to know a little more about it. It is a single shot with a 28" barrel, S/N 1217xxx

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Single shot. Interesting. Let us know how it shoots for you. My 52B is a tack driver. So is my 52C Heavy Bbl. I'll bet it is. Most 52's shoot lights out.. But where the 52 really shines is when you compare them to most any other 22lr. After shooting mine for the first time, I thought to myself I didn't know what I had been missing. From an accuracy standpoint, I have 2 other rifles that shoot just as well as my 52B, but they are clunky by comparison.
