What the longest shot you made and was able to get the animal

Once at 30 yards, rest have all been shot w/ 20 pin.

First deer was 34 yards. I practice to 100 yards pretty routinely. Average since then (about 20 years) is probably 15 yards. The older I get the closer I seem to shoot them. Closest was about 7 yards, but i had him at 3 for quite a while. The angle was bad so I waited for him to get farther away.

Id be happy to shoot em all at 15.

45 is longest, shortest was straight down out of stand.

Used to practice to 60 all the time. Did well. Doesnt mean Id shoot one that far.

Theres a lot more to the shot than just yardage.
If any doubt, let em walk.

Longest is 44 yards, but out of 100 plus animals, average would be under 20 yards.

80yds back before rangefinders........one of the only deer I have ever had to shoot twice. Dumb stunt by a dumb kid.

65 yards in an open field just at daylight . The rest of the 30+ deer I shot were probably 25 yards or less.

i just don`t care to hope and poke anymore yep you can make the shot but can you always kill the animal ? animals move very quickly ? so i keep it within 30 yards anymore yes i killed a deer at 50 yards but many times it was a mis . good luck with your shot, as a very good bowhunter who also was a pro archer and did very well at Vegas said : shoot to kill ,Pete53

65 on mule deer/antelope/elk (this was a self imposed maximum for an unwounded animal). Average for western hunting has been 45. Whitetail average is probably 30. I do most of my practice at 40 (2 shoulder surgeries ago, it was 60).

Just under 50yds. That was about 15 years ago. I don't like to shoot past 30yds now and would much rather shoot them at 20.

38-39 yards

Wouldn't shoot that far again. I'll let an animal walk and hope for another, better shot another time or day. Don't care how fast your bow is..........a lot of stuff can happen in the time that elapses between the bow and 40 yards.
