Anyone played with these? I like everything about them on paper other than the reticle. I typically don’t like that much clutter on a hunting rifle.

I bought a 2-15x56 with #4 illuminated from Camera Land about a month ago it's going on a 6.5x47 Lapua. I mounted it on another rifle just to mess around with until the 6.5 is finished. I like it. Can't imagine the 3-18 wouldn't be just as good.

Yes, I do have that exact scope and also the 3-15x50 with the #4. The reticle is a bit busy but useable. I put it on a .243 and it is OK, just annoying. I won't buy another with that reticle. I do like the actual scope though. It they would offer it with the #4 illuminated then I think it would be a winner. I have 2 of the #4's in my 3-15x50 and I like it much better than the cluster reticle in the smaller scope. Until they offer more reticle options I'm done Buying anymore Amplus 6's.

I really like the weight and size of the 3-18. Fondled one at SW and waiting on a sale to use by SW points..

I have the 50mm version mounted on a 257 Bee. Found out it is a pretty good lowlight scope even past the end of shooting light. It has the #4 reticle

I wish they sold the 44mm model with the #4.

The reticle is a major hang up for me. I cannot understand why they don’t realize the value of a traditional reticle in a hunting scope. They do in a 50 but not in a 44. Makes zero sense to me.

I spoke with 2 Leica reps at the DSC show and they are aware that we consumers, think that reticle sux. Word is they are talking about making changes to the current reticle and/or adding reticles to that 3-18 scope.

I too have been looking to buy this exact scope, but won't because of the reticle. As has been mentioned, Leica is very likely to introduce the classic German (illuminated) L-4a in this scope. I sure hope so.

I looked at the 1-6x24 & the 2.5-15x50 at DSC and liked both of them a lot. Will be ordering at least one of each later this spring. The illuminated dot on Leica's 4A reticle is perfect to my eyes and their glass is really bright.

I too am going to buy one.

I have one on my 280 ai, it’s my favorite scope. Everything about it is very good. The reticle suits my needs for long range hunting, I would prefer just one horizontal line with one MOA wind holds like a wind plex. But, at 400 yards all the busy stuff in the reticle is below the belly of most animals so it’s not an issue. The glass is great, the turret is very tactile, the size is nice, all the dials are fairly easy to turn (not too easy but. not too stiff), I can’t think of anything I don’t like. For my type of hunting and having 18x on the top end, I prefer the current reticle over a standard duplex simply because I like to hold for wind. Just my observations and preferences.

I bought one to play with. The reticle is too much and I agree with BillyE, why on a sfp. I shoot FFP scopes and in that format the Christmas tree reticles make more sense.
I would prefer a traditional #4 or #8 with up to 5 MOA windage references. I like a good 200 and 300 yard hold over reference but anything beyond I dial. Actually Swarovski's BRH is money in my opinion for traditional chamberings. They could lose a couple strata lines though.
Otherwise, the Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44i is money.

Just dawned on me, Leica has the 4a reticle in the PRS 5-30x56 but not in the Amplus 3-18x44
Makes complete sense.

Makes complete sense. That is crazy. I am waiting for #4 as well and will buy one.
