I recall reading an article online about these two rifles not too long ago. Seems one of them had spent many years as either a regularly carried hunting gun before someone figured out what they had.

Been for sale on GB for almost a year now.

I held #2 in my hand back in 1999. It was for sale at a Houston gun show for $25K. Didn’t have the cash at the time and was skeptical of the authenticity as I figured “what’s it doing here”.

I find it hard to believe that SN1 was just sent out to some hardware store.

I besides the money, I wouldn’t buy them because the seller is a lazy ass. There should be 100 pictures each, colonoscopies of the barrels, triggers, stock channels, etc. [bleep] stupid. I hope he has an extra wide coffin so they can lay one on each side of him.

How does a guy who didn’t know he had #1 turn into a collector who then buys #2?

You don’t understand, condition doesn’t matter, serial numbers matter.

I’d sell everything I own for those. But I’d be $1.749 million short.
