I have Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, and Novak mags. I like the Wilson 47Ds best but stocked up and use Novaks for practice due to the price and they've been A-OK for so far. The Chip McCormick Power10s are nice at the range as well....

One more vote for Wilson mags.

I used to use them a lot, but found the springs got soft quicker, and the lips tended to spread easier. Not bad, but not top tier IMO.

I used the same 6 Shooting Star 8 round mags for at least 5 years shooting IPSC, steel, and bowling pins. That included 4-6 matches a month plus 1-2 practice sessions a week. They've been dropped on concrete, ashpalt, gravel, dirt, and most anything esle you can think of, kicked, stepped on, run over, and just generally abused to all hell. I change the springs in them once a year, brush them out when they get filthy, and they've never bobbled. If there's a better 1911 mag out there, I don't know what it is.

I've got a couple Shooting Stars and just ordered a couple more. I don't have a whole lot of time with them but they've been good thus far.

When talking of the McCormick magazines I like the Power Mag better than the Shooting Star. I'll still take the Wilson 8 rounders, however, the McCormick 8 shot Power Mag is pretty fair. In my experience the Shooting Stars are fair, not as good as the other two, but decent magazines.

Do you have any 47Ds, and if so, can you detect any real "improvements" yet? I'm secretly hoping that the new magazine creates a big buzz, and I can score some boring old 47Ds for cheap.
