I am about to purchase a classic break open single shot rifle which comes with propietary 1" mounts.
What is the best 1" scope these days that so many manufacturers have shifted towards 30mm?
I would like at least a 42-44 mm bell, ideally 50 mm, and variable powder up to 15 or 18x.
Price not being an issue, I am looking for the best optics and a reliable, trustworthy, ballistic turret.
Thank You,
Alvaro

That’s a great one as I’m looking for about the same thing for my P64 FWT 270.
I’ve given a look at the Swaro Z5i 3.5x18 with the Ballistic Turret. I’ve heard from a few people I trust it works well. It is limited in travel but I only need to get out to 600 so it shouldn’t be an issue.

It would be our pleasure to assist you. A great option would be the Swarovski Z5 Series

It sounds like the 3-15x50 would match your listed specs...they also have it in x42. The come with two turrets, one set and forget and one that's taller zero stopped to dial with a cap if you wish to cap it. Really nice option. https://tractoptics.com/riflescopes/toric-1inch-hunting-rifle-scopes

Keep in mind that the Tract Toric scopes have a dark gray finish that may not be a great fit for a classic/high-end rifle with deep bluing. Personal preference, of course. There is a Vortex Razor LH 3-15 in the Classifieds that may fit. Those are made in Japan and are well regarded.

Thank your for your comments.
My first thought was towards Swaro's Z5 but not finding them in their web page I had understood they had been discontinued.
The Tractoric seems to get very good reports everywhere. At 750US, roughly 45% less than a Z5, how good is their glass?

Glass is Schott HD about as good as it gets

I am inclined to give Tract's 3-15x50 a go.
I wonder why it costs 30% less than their 30mm 2,5-15x44...
BillyE, I am looking for more power the S&B Summit offers. And I want a variable power scope. Otherwise, S&B would have been a good choice, thank You.

I had a Summit a few years ago and promptly got rid of it. Great glass, terrible hunting reticle, and finicky eyebox aren't my cup of tea.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

They are not discontinued. I have looked thru and owned a lot of 1" tubes and the Z5 has great lowlight glass, never a hiccup and it has been mounted on 2 different rifles . 240 and 270 weatherby.
