Some would say that the moral of the story is that everyone should live in cities and the rest given to the bears.

The rest of us would compete for the top of the food chain.

Suck to be a Mermaid/man, and share your space with sharks. lol. Guns work good above water.

I wonder if Yellowstone rangers tell these stories when giving tours?

Ratio-wise, I'm betting there are more bad humans than bad bears. Certainly cumulatively.

And it would depend on your perspective- to other bears, these guys would be heroes.

This is gonna be a bad bear story.

Get the wrong bear its like a lightening strike and that rare if not more likely. Think how much lightning you see.

It can and does happen. But its awful rare.

Bears don't bother me much. I show them lots of respect. And am aware I'm not top of the food chain. And will attempt to defend myself if the time comes.

Moose OTOH you just can't tell about a dang moose... I pay even better respect to them.

Bears are pretty cool IMHO.

Not like others that live in Alaska I have only need to deal with black bears and lucky only one that thought he was the owner of the woods.....I was lucky that the challenge was ended at my feet with a 45 ACP......
