This one hurts a bit, but I'm putting together funds for a boat that will actually get used by my son and I, so...
This is a W. Moore & Grey (Craven St., London) 12 gauge side by side.
According to my interpretation of the proof marks, along with some input by a few folks more knowledgeable than me, this gun was made in 1904. It was reproofed (barrels tested for strength) sometime after 1954.
The craftsmanship on this gun is remarkable, with tons of hand engraving and incredible wood-metal fit.
The lockup is tight, and the solder is sound (the barrels ring like a bell).
Its chambered for 2.5" shells, but I have used very light 2 3/4' loads with no apparent ill effect. Most of a case of 2.5" RST shells would be available to the buyer, at additional cost.
The barrels are 29", but don't let that fool you, thing thing balances beautiful and points like your finger.
According to my patterning, it is choked roughly Skeet or IC/Modified.
Asking $1,900.
Offers will be considered, but if you're at all interested in this one, I would recommend contacting me before I come to my senses, put this one back in the safe, and decide to just buy a cheaper boat.
