Just my opinion, but if choosing between a spike hunt or cow, I’d pick the cow.

Cant speak to Utah, but calf recruitment in the SW has been lower than usual the past couple years. We saw 1 spike all last year here in NM where we’d usually see 1 or 2 in each larger cow group.

Well....a cow hunt in Colorado just came in........we now have options

I would also agree with going with a cow hunt over a spike hunt especially if 4 hunters are planning on going.

I’d also recommend concentrating on making this a great trip for your dad and memories made. Take lots of pictures also.

Maybe let him hunt and you go along ?Might be a way to get a bull hunt for $6k.Not ideal but a thought.Good luck and enjoy.
