I have not tried it, because the 4831 loads are so good, but the data shown is pretty tempting. I just don't do much experimenting now that everything is so expensive. The Interlock is a great bullet.

I have not tried it either because H4831 has been so good for decades.........and then I tried RL26 !!!!!!

I have quite a bit of Sta-Ball 6.5 and use it in several other rifles but not the right fit for me in the 270

They do not list data for the bullets I use, 140gr Nosler BT, but I figured 53 or 54 grains would work. They did, with results of 2956fps and 3023fps using Federal brass and WLR primers. That was also a day of experimentation with different brass, using 53gr in Remington brass gave them 3022fps. The gun is a Ruger #1 with a 26" barrel that has often given lower velocities than book listings show, it's got a pretty long throat and I seat the bullets out to be within .010"-020" of the lands. For reference, back in 1998 I shot some factory Remington 130gr Bronze Point rounds through it and got 3021fps.

Velocity spreads in 3-shot groups was 15-25fps, about on par with the powder I've mostly gone to in the caliber, Reloder 16. In trying out the newer powders I've also seen IMR 4451 turn in similar results with 140gr bullets, winding up with 2880-2920fps and spreads of 12-20fps in 3 shot groups. IMR 4166 has come in at 2850fps with spreads of 25-50fps, but I've used it more with lighter bullets of 90-110gr.

As soon as I can find some H100V, I’m going to try it in the 270 with 130 Interlocks.

StaBALL is right next to 100V on the burn chart - and both fall directly between H4350 and H4831SC. I’ve had great lunch with both 4350 and 4831, so IMO in between should work out also.

Let us know how it works out for you. I have a couple pounds of 100V, but have not used yet. Thinking about trying it in my .338 WM with 225 gr. TTSX’s.
