I too find the trade very rewarding. I served a 4 yr. machinist apprenticeship at a gov't arsenal. Did very well on a 16 hr. (2 day) performance test at the end of the program. Worked in the toolroom until I retired 13 yrs. ago.
No loose clothing or jewelry allowed and I have all of my fingers...
