Should add that I suspect different bullets get loaded in some factory ammo, more frequently than some hunters might suspect. Know that I have pulled quite a few cup-and-core bullets from factory ammo in the past 30 years that, when sectioned, had what looked a lot like Interlock rings....

I’ve used them for years out of a 243, 270win, and 308win. Killed local whitetails and hogs without a problem. I’ll be using them again this season.

Like to have a $1 for every moose killed in the Yukon with 270, 308, 30/06 & 300 Savage blue box.

Or for every deer shot in Saskatchewan with fed blue box.

Yes they seem to work fine

Without being overly scientific and comparing lot numbers and keeping records, it seems to me that the blue box 308 150's have been a little tougher of a bullet the past few seasons.

Anyone know what the difference is between the Federal Blue Box stuff and the Federal Non-Typical Whitetail stuff? Seems like the latter is easier to come by. It looks like about the same price point.

Haven't bought the Blue Box in quite awhile and haven't tried the Non-Typical Whitetail.

I shot them and they shoot to POI in three different rifles...

I honestly think it's just different packaging. Like the old Hornady Custom vs. Hornady Whitetail.

Seems like I recall my father shooting them both interchangeably in one of his rifles.

I've used Federal Blue Box in 300 Savage, 308 Winchester, and .30-'06 with good results. The deer died and I recovered them. No complaints. All were with 150 gr.

I’ve shot lots of Federal Blue box in .243, .270, and .308. I have generally seen great accuracy and performance has been plenty good on Texas whitetails and hogs.

I’ve tried the Fed Non Typicals in 6.5 CM. Pretty accurate, but visually the NT bullets look like Fusions. The copper jacket on the NT’s extends to all the way down the tip, while the Blue Box has a pretty significant exposed lead tip.

If NT’s are loaded with Fusions, that’s a big step up from common soft points, IMO. Fusions are some of my favorites for performance on deer and accuracy.

Count me in with those who like them. Performance wise I have not had any issues with deer and bullet failure in .243 7-08 or .280. Not one failure and have shot more than a few deer with them over the years. Accuracy wise they just shoot extremely well in the two M77 Mark II and the A-Bolt. My other go to factory ammo is the Fussions

I love 'em in 150 gr 3006 in my M700 classic. Shoots well under a inch all day long at 100 yds. Whitetails don't like 'em at all. LOL. Great ammo usually at a reasonable price at Wally World.

In 243, 270, 30/30 and 308 all blue box shoots well in my rifles but 55 and 62 grain 223 blue box only gave me 2" groups in my Tikka T3.

Also I did have a savage 99 that shot 150 grain 308 blue box into 1" at 200 yards!
