Good afternoon,
I've been bitten by the rimfire bug recently for the quiet and low cost shooting without needing to spend time at the reloading bench.
While I own modern recent production 22's I have gotten more interested in Curio & Relic eligible firearms.
I'm looking for opinions of the Remington 521T Junior Target as they are marked.
Does the shorter length of pull create issues for average sized grownups.

I have 3 6 year old grandkids I would teach on it as well. One has started out on a chipmunk, but is already getting to big for it.
I want to stay with clip fed instead of tube fed so I can single load it easier.

if you do not have the correct LOP, it is easier to shoot a shorter LOP than a long LOP

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Thanks.
I'm just shy of 6'. Now that you mention a shorter length of pull being easier I went and measured my other 22 rifles and most are right at 13.5".

Guess I was concerned over a minor difference.

Thanks

After one year of squirrel hunting with a shotgun dad bought me a 521 T to match his. He would give me 6 shells and say that's all you need for 6 squirrels. Taught me to take my time and make good shots. Love that rifle and it will be one of the last I would ever let go. I have some more expensive rimfires but the 521 isn't far behind accuracy wise. Won't shoot high velocity for crap but loves standard velocity stuff. .

My Dad taught me to be frugal with ammo as well when I was a kid. I learned on an old Marlin with a peep sight the model I'm not sure of anymore.
it was stolen out of his machine shed after I had grown up.
I recently bought a Marlin 81DL. While not what my Dad had its close as far as vintage.

The Remington 521T is a wonderful rifle that was Remington's idea of a target rifle mated with a hunting rifle.. I have a first year 521T Junior Special that fills both roles very nicely. While the LOP is a little on the short side, the sights, trigger and accuracy are phenomenal. Not a rifle that I would give up willingly. If you have an opportunity to pick up a nice example then I would jump on it in a heartbeat.
