Incredible rifles.

And a lefty! If you are taking applications for adoption, please let me know! He and I are both right handed as you can be except for rifle and shotgun shooting. I guess he can blame me as long as I get credit for his taste in rifles!

Found a used early Model 10 at a very reasonable price a few years ago in 25-06 Ackely Improved. Wood is not quite as nice as the 3 Model 10’s displayed here but handsome none the less. Firing pin promptly broke which early model 10’s were prone to do. Dakota Arms was still operating and I was able to return it for repair. They replaced the firing pin free of charge. Ordered new die’s from Redding which don’t properly resize fired 25-06 cases to fit the Model 10 chamber. Found out that there are slight variances in different manufactured 25-06 Ackley Improved chamber sizes. Fortunately it shoots regular 25-06 ammunition just fine. Despite these various speed bumps I’m very happy with this firearm.

They are gorgeous rifles. The last I knew, they were grouped in with some companies that were not picked up after the Freedom group debacle/bankruptcy. Calls to their company phone went unanswered. Are they back in business or defunct?
