What would be the going rate of a High Standard Victor if I was lucky enough to find one?

500-1500 depending on condition and what configuration you're after. GLWS

What configurations are out there, the only one I've seen and want is the one with the vent rib and a/or about a 4 1/2" barrel. I'm left-handed, so I will have to find a set of grips before I can even shoot it.

The Hamden mfg ML series is the top $$$ model if memory serves. That's not to say the others aren't good shooters but once they started making SH series pieces in East Hartford I think there were more problems with fit, function, finish, etc. Marcel

Thank you, been looking and found one in Texas about 40 miles from me. I was going to call on it, but it was made in East Hartford, so now I think I will pass on it. You were a lot of help, appreciate it.

They were also manufactured in Texas under the name of Mitchell Arms. Both Houston and Fort Worth locations. But as Marcel stated the Hamden ones are the most collectible. Good luck in your search. Mark

You were a lot of help, appreciate it. Doug I didn't intend to derail your local search. As 5960 stated above both are "old" models and I'm sure you'd be happy with that local one. What I wanted to point out is A. possible sticker shock on some you see B. Why you see that sticker shock on some models and not on others. And C. making sure you don't sink a fortune into a model thats not worth what you paid necessarily. Marcel

I have an original Victor and also a Mitchell in Stainless.
Depending on your budget dictates your options.
(Not for sale though, just info on Mitchell option).......

ML Victors were made in both Hamden and East Hartford and I would buy a nice example of either without concern. Collectors prefer the early Hamden pistols so prices reflect that. Going rate for a nice example is $800-$1,000 or thereabouts. They were made with 4.5" and 5.5" barrels and a weight could be added underneath the barrel. Here are your left handed grips: grips

Having second thoughts due to being to shaky to even shoot a pistol, thanks to all, and sorry for wasting your time.
