Im planning on having my Parker-Hale rifle rebarreled for 25-06 Rem. I am wondering about the twist rate. Some sources talk about 9 in 1 and others 10 in 1. It looks like in most reloading manuals they have used rifles with 1 in 10 twist test barrels. They also use 26" barrels most of them. What dou you all reccomend? I will be using all the bullet weights for varmints and up to reindeer.
Thanks, - kakali

1 in 10 will stabilize every readily available 25 caliber hunting bullet that I know of. Hart, Lilja, and Krieger don't list anything faster than 1-10 as being available.

kakali,
I have three .25-06's(Ruger No.1, Ruger M77V and a Rem. M700 BDL Varmint) and all of them are 1-10 twists and stabilize all weight bullets. Lawdog
