Old style montana, grey stock not threaded. Caliber is 308 win. It’s new old stock rifle that has been on the rack for who knows how long. They said they would sell it for 1000.00 should I buy it?

I recently paid AUD2200 for an as new 223 Montana. 1000USD looks like a bargain for NOS 308!

A .308 Montana is one of the great pure hunting rifles. Buy that thing, tomorrow. You’ll never regret it.

Down the road, it’s a great platform for a rebarrel, which is why it will hold its value. Imagine it as a 7-08.... a 6.5 Creed.... a .358.....

I got a threaded one in 7-08 in the box that I haven't tried yet, but I'm left handed so I'll have to practice shooting righty or gift it to my nephew

My .308 is my most accurate Montana, and is a great fit in that original 84m platform.

Plus .308 is one of the few cartridges where it’s still pretty easy to find factory ammo if you don’t reload, and that’s handy even if you do.

Recoil in a Montana .308 is still manageable, and that’s a lot of rifle for $1,000 in this market.

I’d jump all over it quick if it’s something you want.
