Newly formed, independent Amazon Labor Union voted to unionize at Amazon in Staten Island, New York .
They are presently unassociated with any national union.
Wonder how far this will spread throughout Amazon.

This new Local Union should be fun to watch. Yeah. Now that the seed has been planted you’d think that the larger Unions will want to aquire the Independent ALU. Flipping Amazon would be a money machine for for the big boys.

My opinion is it depends on the 'staying power', determination and effectiveness of it's leaders to affect desired / needed changes in a timely manner. All too often I've seen local labor union hierarchy 'sell out' and accept positions in management when offered.

Sorta like the my committee chair that lost re-election on Thursday and started as a contract supervisor on Monday! He lasted about a week. Someone painted his office with liquid manure……

Great .. another Fancy Union building going to go up down the freaking street somewhere ......all the workers get to pay for it ..... then we won't get our stuff because they decided to go on strike , because Amazon didn't give them enough Child Care pay for all their non fathered kids at home ....f'ers

And it will take extra workers to do anything.

Mr Bezos’s net worth of 182.9 Billion is Going to be compromised. For Starters he might have to take 6” off of his 417’ $500 million yacht… but that might save him a couple of bucks Maybe he doesn’t have to dismantle then rebuild the Koningshaven Bridge..lol….

This is a wonderful thing. Now if we could just get that damnable Taft-Hartley act declared unconstitutional or repealed and do away with those damnable Right-to-Work-for LESS states. Walmart and probably Amazon are working people for slave wages and the welfare system (taxpayers) is subsidizing their employees because they are basically paupers.
