Had about 12 gallons of gasoline (E-10) setting in jugs for about 3 months.
Gas smelled OK but was a little cloudy when poured into truck tank.
Now truck tank is half-full and engine is running rough.
What should I do?

Top off with good fuel and dilute the bad.

Thanks, Jim.
Should I burn it up fast or dilute with fresh gas?

Dilute it.

I doubt it's your problem though, it's probably something else that just happened at the same time. 3 month old fuel, even ethanol fuel, should be fine.

Adding it to a 3/4 full tank of fresh gas a gallon or two at a time would have been a better choice. Now that it's in there, top off the tank with fresh gas and take a drive. Maybe add a little Sea Foam or something similar to clean up any varnish that might have formed in the stale stuff. It only takes about a month for E-10 to start going bad.

To bad it isn't a Toyota. I let mine get to 1/2 full and add the old 4 gals or so and top off with reg unleaded. Even get rid of mixed 2 stroke boat motor gas like that. mb

3 month gas isn't that old Should be fine twice that long and usable for a year.

The gas shouldn't have been cloudy. It probably had some water in it. Diluting it with more gas won't help because water sinks to the bottom anyway and the fuel pickup will suck it right up.

add some Styrofoam until it's a semi-jell. you now have a sort of napalm. fill glass christmas tree ornament, rag wick, light your brush piles.

If its cloudy there's water in it.....let it sit for several days then pour easy ..... water will be on the bottom.....

I've picked up lawnmowers, snow blowers in the garbage with old gas in them not to often they are cloudy.....just pour the old gas out put new in most will start....take old gas and add it to new gas 3 parts new to 1 part old.....

Octane booster is mostly composed of Ethylene, Toluene and Xylene, you can buy quarts of some of these at the hardware store.
