Gents:
Been pondering a 9.3x62 for Alaska (my Africa days are over for good).
Do I need to worry about CRF? Would definitely be in coastal brown bear country.
I have a couple modern push feeds that I could send to JES (e.g. R700 or W70) but have hesitated due in part to some of the bloviating here on the fire.
But now is decision time. And no, I don't plan to sell a push feed to apply toward a CRF.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Use which ever you are comfortable with. Either will work fine. Military uses push feed
I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

If you go with a push feed instead of a CRF just be aware that you’ll not be able to hang upside down from a branch when you’re cycling the rounds. 😁…..if that doesn’t bother you then you should be fine with any good push feed action.
Personally I don’t feel handicapped by a M700. My “dangerous game” rifles are all push feed and I’ve never had a single issue throughout the years.
Good luck Sir and I hope you share the details of whatever you decide to go with.

Have you ever had a problem with a push feed action?

Yes...my earlier suggestion of converting a pre64 M70 to Eurotrash chambering almost seems sacrilegious.... My 9.3 is a Mauser

I used to think this was a bigger deal than it is, and my preference is generally for crf. But I’ve found there actually isn’t much difference.

I've got a brand new Mark X magnum action with double set triggers that's just waiting for a project like that.

The professional hunting guides in Africa prefer control round feed rifles, in emergencies. I too have had push feed jambs. CRF's can yank that stuck cartridge out. All my bolt rifles are CRF's. What if you fall, and get mud in the action?

Adrenaline can do strange things to the best of men in unpredictable ways. Mauser takes one tiny Murphy factor off the list of things that can go wrong. Also, extraction is not important, until it is.The Germans are clever rascals, if they thought PFs were effective in all environments, that is what they would have taken to the gates of Stalingrad. My pants have never fallen down, but I still wear suspenders.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Probably not, but I would.

Posted about this elsewhere
The only dangerous game I've hunted was 2 legged. All with PF weapons. I think reliability and familiarity with a give rifle trumps most other things.
If you have a proven rifle you are already intimate with I think that beats new and different.
Oh, and refresh my history, who won at Stalingrad?

Push feed is for varmint rifles.... real rifles have controlled round feed I keep reading that you REAL men only need one shot and only REAL men hunt with a round in the chamber. What does it matter?
