Does anyone have any good load data I can start from ? Wasting powder kinda gets old ( when there is not much in Texas right now )
Thanks in advance

Start with book data from the bullet you want to use and a chronograph.

What he said.

My 257wby gets 115gr bullets and IMR 7828. Makes 3350 with a 24” factory barrel. Planned on 100gr stuff, but the rifle hated the 100s I had on hand.

100 gr TTSX Barnes with H1000 is a good place to start. Not easy to find either though.

Those who call magazines "clips" and cartridges "bullets" ought not to be taken seriously. Jeff Cooper.
We might add those who call bullets "boolits.

I’d be hunting for an 8# jug of 7828. It’s all I burn in mine after a bunch of experimenting with a range of powders. It works well for accuracy and high speeds with a range of bullet weights.

I'm using 100 gr TTSX with R25 and having good results.

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

71.3gr of either RL-22 or MRP, F-215 primers, 100gr anything...

My personal opinion is to stay away from R22 and go with a temp insensitive powder like H1000. That and 100gr TTSX's. They don't mind a long jump. Load to book COAL or less.

RL-25 has proven itself with 115 Berger VLDs in several 257 Weatherby rifles I and my friends own. RL-33 is an option with 115 gr or heavier bullets.

After getting my custom 257wby, I tried IMR 7828 and liked it enough that I’ve never tried other powders.

Ramshot Magnum is another good choice for the 257Wby that's been more available than most of the Alliant and Hodgdon offerings.

My "go to" load in the 257 Weatherby Accumark is 100 gr. nosler partition over 73 gr. IMR 7828, federal 215m primers for +/- 3,650 fps.

ya!

Nosler Patritions i get the same kind of groups as jorge 1 does I also like RL.25 too. 257 Weatherby mag. cartridge is my favorite big buck cartridge. good luck,Pete53 P.S. this year 2022 i am going to try Hammer bullets 25 cal. 103 gr. they sure are accurate on paper too and in stock too from Hammer bullets .com.

7828ssc was good for the Barnes 100 grain TTSX but had mixed results on game.
Switched to the 92 grain Hammers with great results at the range and one deer so far.
74 grains ,Fed Mag Rifle Primer @ 3828-3839fps and cover with a dime and I am a average shot at best.
I didnt experience pressure but didnt see a need to go farther.
