Bill, can't fault a guy for trying, but in all my years of accumulating Savage stocks I've never seen one for sale. Doesn't mean you won't find one tomorrow, but I never have.

Is your 1895 a round or octagonal barrel?

If it is a round barrel, I have a forearm that could be used as a pattern to make one. There was some fiberglass work done to it due to the wear. It was on my rifle when I had it restored, but since it was on the original I had it returned to keep with the rifle. Allan Springer at Snowy Mountain Blue Gun Restoration did mine and the replacement woodwork is outstanding.

I would be willing to lend it to be used as a pattern for a replacement but want it back as it was on my rifle originally.

Surely one of those unchecked ones will work on my 1898 saddle ring carbine. Up for a trade ? GW
