Otter and Thompson are about the same age but Otter looks far younger. They lived together for a long time. I think he figured they'd better get married when he ran for governor or he'd never have a change at getting elected. On the other hand, I've also heard that he'd wanted to get married for a long time but she was the one who was hesitating. I'm not sure which is true. At any rate, they got married at the beginning of the campaign.
