Silly question but I figured I would ask since I have never loaded sierra bullets before and the campfire crowed has allot more experience then me. I picked up a old open box of Sierra 30 cal. 150 spiters from a local gun shop. I just want to know if these would be the same as sierras 30 cal. SPT #2130 bullet. The box has no product number. I did weigh 15 of them at the shop before purchasing and they are 150gn. I loaded up a dummy round following sierras 30-06 load data with a O.A.L of 3.225 and it loaded into my rifle just fine. Thank you.

Yes, the 150 grain Pro Hunter would be today's equivalent.

Yes, the 150 grain Pro Hunter would be today's equivalent. Yep, that is what they look like to me. I'd treat them as such, but loading to an arbitrary OAL is something I see a lot of you guys doing that does NOT make sense. You guys need to know where your lands are for every bullet you load, if you care anything about accuracy/precision.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
