I am selling a near new Leupold Alaskan scope in 4 power. These compact 7/8" Alaskans are becoming reasonably difficult to find as they were only made for 20 months in the early 90's. They feature all the modern amenities such as multi-coated lens, sealed tube bodies with inert gas filling and duplex reticles. They are "gin" clear, small and trim, looking and performing very well on both larger centerfire rifles as well as quality 22's. A neat addition to a vintage rifle and especially attract on smaller guns. This one has perfect lenses and near new bluing with just one very light ring mark that's hard to see and can probably be totally covered by the mounting ring. All the adjustments move as they should. $425 plus $11 shipping with insurance and tracking to the lower 48.

If you are in need of rings, I have Leupold's, Talley (levered), Weaver and Kimber (levered L. Brownell) that can be purchased separately. All of these are 7/8" of course and are new or very near to it.

Please call or PM for questions and/or picture requests or just to chat about fine scopes and rifles.

Ed Lundberg, 719-495-6560 in Colorado Springs.

Was asked whether this scope was matte or gloss. The scope has a turned steel construction which results in a satin sheen-like finish so not as shiny as gloss nor as flat as matte. Maybe in-between, thanks...

Mr. Lundberg is extremely knowledgeable about fine scopes and rifles in general. I have bought several items from him over the years. Trade with him in absolute confidence.

Bump for a fantastic gentleman, Mr. Lundberg reached out to me regarding an inquiring post on Rimfire central regarding a Custom Kimber 82. His knowledge of fine guns and his overall respect for his fellow man is quite remarkable. Anyone who has dealings with him I'm sure will walk away in awe. Appreciate you much Mr. Lundberg! ---Chris

I’m interested but I’m not sure if I can get that scope into the rings I have. It’s an old echo scope mount that wraps around the scope and only split on one side

I understand that Leupold can install these on the Alaskans. Their custom shop Is, as I understand it, temporarily closed until later this year which may impact this.

What's the outside diameter of the rear bell?

I have one of the 4x Leupold Alaskans on a Japanese 52 Sporter for the aesthetics of having a scope with a size that is in sync with the rifle and a 2.5x on one of Larry Koller's Savage 1920s. Good scopes and a significant upgrade in lens coatings compared to the Lyman Alaskans.

I wonder why Leupold didn't put serial numbers on them?
