Same sort of situation with the 6.5x47 Lapua and the 6.5 Creedmoor.

How do those 105 Scenars work on game? Similar to the 155gr .308" I hope.
My 6CM shoots the 103 ELDX and 95gr Sierra Gamechanger pretty well. It’s getting a new stock built currently then I’ll try the 107 Sierra MK.

No contest on which is easier, in every way. All else being equal, easy is good.

TakeEm,

The 105 gr, Scenar, has worked very well for me, on Whitetail, Pigs, and predators, the 103 gr. eld-x works well also, if your shooting paper or steel the 107 SMK, is a good bullet but it's not a hunting bullet. Rio7

Great, thanks! Have you ever used StaBall 6.5? I have a couple pounds of that and IMR 4831, along with 1lb of RL 17.

TakeEm, Never used StaBall, tried R-17 thought it was to slow, IMR 4831 is working well for me in the 6mm. Rio7

StaBall works really well in 6 CM with 108-115 gr bullets, IME.

Jordan,

Thanks for the info, i think i have a couple of pounds StaBall, and some 110 gr a-tips, I don't know what to do with. I can burn them up shooting steel. Rio7

Rio,

That’d work pretty well. Hodgdon has load data for that combo.

My 260 keeps shooting groups in the .3's and I want to rebarrel it to 6x47 or 6 creed. Loony I think!

Rio,

How's it perform vs. the 243 AI?

David Walter,

I have 2 243 A.I. both 1 x 8 Twist, my 6CM is a 1 x 8 twist, my .243 A.I. run a 105 gr. Scenar at 3050 fps, my 6CM runs a 105 gr. Scenar at 3025 fps, the 6CM needs 41.8 gr, of powder to get there my .243 A.I. needs 41.5 gr. to get there, all 3 are suppressed. in the field if you didn't pay attention you wouldn't know which was which. YMMV Some one will come along and say i'm full of Chitt, that's to be expected. Rio7

I have one of the Howa barreled actions and put it into a McMillan. Dang this is great in my opinion. I think it's a 1-7 1/2" twist. I have been shooting 105 HPBT's at 3100 with SB6.5 in Alpha Brass. Its been so easy it was almost boring. Fun rifle to shoot.

I have some of the 110 ATips as well. Still mowing through my 105's though.
