If your into it, there is a Forbes 24B, 30-06 for $1900 on Guns International.
No affiliation.
Also a M700 KS, 30-06 and an XCR 270.
Bore size is no substitute for shot placement and Power is no substitute for bullet performance. 458WIN

It doesn't look like Forbes 24B's (RH or LH) are available new at this time. I guess the 24B was considered their "production" rifle, not the custom 24.
Does anybody know what they cost the last time you could find a new one?

Have a Fieldcraft and have long admired Melvin rifles, but also have a Howa Alpine that’s very nice and very light, and cost me $600. Those are gone too, but the new Carbon Stalkers are going for around $1k. I could do very well with one of those as well and spend the change on a good scope. Does anyone know if Wilson is going to continue the prior practice of upgrading Forbes to Full Melvins?
What fresh Hell is this?

I believe the list on the 24b was around 1500 with stainless a little more. They reduced them a little when they started to shut production down. I picked up a nos in 270 for 1100 shipped from a place that still had one last year. Mine was 2014 fluted bolt but shoots great. The 1900 seemed pricey to me but they don’t pop up much. Carrying it is a dream but shooting it I really have to be focused get it to work it’s magic.

I believe I saw that Melvin will continue doing work on the Forbes rifles for the foreseeable future. If I’m correct, that’s huge.

I read somewhere that Melvin will continue to work on the Colt Light Rifle and Forbes stuff, I have no idea if this is true and if somebody can confirm this, that would be great.

Many of us grabbed the remaining LH Forbes 20, 24b from Barrett's for $900 or so in '15-16.
