Thanks to Karl for a SUPER FUN little rifle. I have been telling him I would post pics but have been too busy to even shoot. All I have done so far is ff 50 rounds of new Lapua brass. Pushing 24 grains of Varget with 55, 69, 75, and 77 grain bullets, all shoot under 1" at 100 ff the brass. The 75 Amax was in the high .3s five shot groups at the end of the day. 700 with all of Karl's magic to include side bolt release installed 20" Rock sendero contour 1-8" twist LTR take off SAS can (really happy with it!)

No one is better as far as customer service than Karl. I know smiths get paid to build rifles and not deal with folks with 100 questions like me but Karl does both well. I bet we emailed back and forth 15+ times during the build.

I DID NOT need to see that! I'm wanting a 223AI pretty bad. How well does it feed? I've heard 700s have issues with .223AI due to steep angle of shoulder. Have you found that to be true? Looks like a nice setup.

Crazy sexy cool rig. Well done. How about a pic of the side bolt release? Don't recall ever seeing one on a 700.

Here's some pics of Chris's side bolt release in a template of my upcoming side bolt stop release page. The pics are just with a H-S stock I had on hand. http://www.kampfeldcustom.com/index_019.htm

Karl;
Guess what else you're gonna have to put on my '06 when it comes back to you this spring for metal coatings?
That .223AI is just too sweet.

Nice work Karl. I remember you asking me my opinion about that side release. Seems it turned out just as you had planned. It's a nice touch, methinks.....
Now get my damn rifle done. I'll be havin' a seriously itchy trigger finger as soon as this nuke plant gig ends................grin

Karl will be building my .308 and my .223AI in a couple of months.
Have you crony the 75 Amax?
That's what I'm planning on running in my .223AI
