Haven't posted in a while, but would like to know how rare the "H" Featherweight would have been in 1917? It is a takedown 30-30, serial # 1878XX. Since only 5500 rifles were produced in that year, how many of these do you think they made ? It has the windage adjustable rear sight and a Marbles tang sight and in excellent overall condition. Happy to have found it. Thanks for your thoughts.

I'd say fairly uncommon, but probably not super rare. Most of the 1899H's at the time I'd think would be most often in 303 Savage or 22 HP. How many were made out of 5500? Good question..
“ The Savage 99 Pocket Reference”. All models and variations of 1895’s, 1899’s and 99’s covered. Also dates, checkering, engraving.. Find at www.savagelevers.com

Both a little later than yours. Used to see them now and then.
