If so, how did you do it? Crazy as the world is and as pro-life as we are it seems like a good idea.

For a pulpit that doesn’t have to be portable or lightweight I’d use AR500 or 600 plates.

What about the benches , congregation on their own ? Congregation going to foot the bill for your pulpit ? Just wondering. Kenneth

Don't know this company. You can buy panels and install them inside, what are you trying to stop? It matters. Here is another, they have Spectra also. https://www.bulldogdirect.com/spectra-shield-armor-panels/Just a little country church that rarely gets 30 on an average Sunday. We have a guy that sits outside the sanctuary armed. His job is part defense, mostly sentry. No one gets past him with out alerting everyone inside. The preacher has the commanding position in the room, And is armed. As are others.

For a pulpit that doesn’t have to be portable or lightweight I’d use AR500 or 600 plates. AR400 would probably work regarding small arms... It is NOT CHEAP... Google a supplier in your zone... under $1k is my guess... but that is a total guess. Strange project IMHO... but good luck.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

I’d think AR500 panels would be the simplest. Possibly a mini gun mounted on a swivel underneath?

Kevlar... or carbon fiber and epoxy can be laid up like fiberglass... again... a very expensive proposition.

What about the flock, are we to only protect the shepherd?

I think I’d just lay 2x6” sxs double layered then mount a 1/4” steel plate atop it. Not many are going to bring anything “hot” enough to pierce that. Plus returned fire is probably going to be the downfall of shooter this day in church. Heavy sure but quite inexpensive all things considered. Easily mocked up and tested in the field.

No the congregation isn't on their own, but who is the highest profile target in the building? The guy up on the podium. Just want to stop normal small arms, no one with a Barrett will make it in anyway.
We have other measures in place, have since the Sutherland Springs fiasco. Just thinking about additional possibilities.
Thanks to those who have taken the question seriously.

It might not be a bad idea, a better idea might be armed guards.

It might not be a bad idea, a better idea might be armed guards. LOL... My church is far more armed than most outsiders would realize... Ya might wanna start a Wabi thread "Who carries a gun (or guns) while going to church?" My answer would be "Yes... three just like everywhere else I go."

If so, how did you do it? Crazy as the world is and as pro-life as we are it seems like a good idea. Lot's of old law books. That is what we did for our judges before their benches were upgraded. kwg

My answer would be "Yes... three. The same as the number of spare truck tires I carry."
