An addition of 500 cfs to the river made angling difficult and success rare, but it was still a fine trip. One of the few vacations that I could grocery up and do a rerun instantly.

Very, very nice pictures. I love that place! Only ever been there in the summer. It's like heaven.

Nice fish and great pictures! Dare I ask what you did to your finger?

Hunterbug: Keen eye (not the place in Alaska). Yes. It was one of the largest snapping turtles I'd ever seen! Well, maybe I should try the truth. In a stupid move for a 60+ year old, I shaved about a 1/32 inch layer off the tip of a very important finger. Doesn't interfer with my ability to handle heavy traffic at all though. Not much of a loss, but the knife is extremely sharp, so clotting was not an instantaneous deal. So much for that bit about a dull knife being more dangerous. Never would have happened with a butter knife. Then again, I'd still be sawing on that line. The first aid kit was buried. Duct tape and a piece of paper towel were handier, so the bit about necessity being the mother applied. Take care and good luck this fall. 1Minute

MissTreated: Nope. Wasn't thinking about my mug. Does look like I'm "sniffing the gift fish" though. I thought the emphasis was on the scaled critters with this crowd. Headed out tomorrow for 2 weeks of elk hunting in Wyoming. I'll try for an improved photo there. Last trip the cutthroat were really on the bite, so I'll dredge up another fish to include in a new image. Might be a good bit shorter though. Happy trails, 1Minute
