Cruising thru Gun Broker... Seems that at least half of the Left Hand 700 BDL .30-06's ever produced are being listed for sale? What gives?

Boomers getting older and switching to the 6.5 Creed. I think there's a lot to that. Maybe not all going the way of the 6.5 CM, some are jumping down to the 6mm CM.

I was wondering if the 6.5 CM would come up. Personally dinking with another .300 H&H project as I get older. However also collecting parts and pieces for a 6.5 project in the future...

Could it be that there are new and better alternatives to the good old 700?

My guess is 95% of leftys over the age of 60 either own, or used to own at least one.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I have owned a half dozen .30-06's over the years. For some reason, never warm up to them. Sell them off. And then eventually buy another one...

I can't even remember shooting a big game animal with one. A couple of years ago realized I was without a 06 and bought a nice Tikka in walnut/blued steel. It is still unfired.

I’ve never owned one….a couple 280 KS guns, a 270 BDL and all lefty. Other than my Sako 375 H&H all I have is short action guns. I feel like I should have one but the 300WSM would get lonely. That said, a 30-06 Tikka would satisfy the itch.

I have killed a ton of elk and deer with the 3006. It may not be flashy but they are very effective game getters.

This must be why the sweet lefty 06 I have for sale in the Brown precision stock isn’t moving!

Nothing wrong with a 700 BDL in .30-06.
Though Mary Ann has a job, cleans, washes dishes and clothes, and makes dinner, we'd still chase Ginger, wouldn't we?

I bought one years ago on Gunbroker for $375. B series. Shoots 180 accubonds and 155 scenars really well. Its hung around long enough that I eventually shot a moose with it. Then a decent black bear. Then daughter used it on a 6x6 elk. Its sitting in a mcmillan stock that was bedded by Dan Dowling, great gunsmith.
Now I have another McMillan inlet for lefty long action bdl. Heck I may have to just grab another one.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who is guilty of this. I feel like I'm in good company.
