I’ve never used the rifle ammo. Thinking of getting some of the 168g 30-06 for all around hunting to include moose/elk. The write up seems good. Some good reviews as well

Asking the experts - any first hand experience. Good or bad? Is the bang worth the buck?

Thanks

Love it. Not as good as home rolled rounds, but excellent ammunition.

IMO it's worth it for their handgun ammo if you need stout loads but I see little advantage to any "premium" loads for a .30-06.

It's not like normal factory ammo for an '06 won't do the job.

I want some heavy 45-70 loads for my Encore handgun but that is a rich novelty to have kicking around.

I've used their hardcast in 44magand 45/70 in the past. Really liked it.

Recently got some of their jacketed rounds in 357 for my 1894. Haven't shot them yet but hoping will work out for whitetails

I agree on the roll your own, just haven’t got there yet. Using a Ruger UL 30-06 for hunting only. I was eyeing the BB 168s mentioned by Tikkanut.

Pricey and out to 300yds or so, do the BB just make the intended animal “deader” or do they seal the deal— all things being equal of course

I ‘ve bought BB hard cast handgun loads and 45-70 for bear defense. Not many of these will be shot so I didn’t feel the need to work up the loads myself. Barnes already sells the 168 ttsx 30-06 load for much less than BB. It’s not quite as fast but that’s mostly splitting hairs. Lots of other very good 30-06 loads are (normally) available. Most at much lower prices as well. Truthfully, about any 180 grain load would should work fine.

Again me the 'frugal shooter'

You can almost hand load 'em with that bullet for a buck a pop..or so

Using your brass of course
