Has anyone shortened the 6.5-284 Norma to approximately 1.92” (6.5 CM Length)?

Something along the lines of the below image. It gives better capacity than a 260 AI, and would allow for seating bullets long in a short action.

The 6.5 PRC is established enough that fired brass is F/S at times. It may be longer & the bullet will intrude on powder capacity over a 1.920" 6.5-284 case, but it has a larger diameter(.530") & will likely out perform the shorter .500" dia. one.

With that in mind, what's the advantage of a shortened 284? Can the 6.5 short action cartridge be refined further? The 6.5 GAP(SAUM .550" Dia.) might be it.???

But whatever the reply, your wonderment is a good thing IMO.

I shoot with a guy that did a shortened 6.5-284.
I'm not up on his numbers but I know he cut the case off at the shoulder with a cutoff tool and then stick it on a arbor in a lathe and turned the neck length and then formed it down from there.
It worked ok but he had extra thick material on the shoulder..Made the case hard to resize ...push the shoulder back. .. his solution was to turn two spots the neck and the shoulder while he had the case mounted on the arbor in the lathe. This helped make the case more usable without resizing issues.
It's a novel idea but personally I think there's better ways to spend your time.
