I can shoot a 1" group with a $30 barrel, and then spend hours cleaning the Copper fouling out.
Any premium barrel brand [like Brux or a dozen others] that has lapped bore and grooves so they look like a mirror.... will shoot a lot of 1" groups between Copper cleaning.
Now with anti Copper additives in powders like CFE223, Re23, IMR 4451, or IMR 4166, I can build a rifle with a premium barrel, sight it in, shoot big game, and not clean it... and still it is a 1" rifle.
But if I build a 6 pound hot loaded 7mmRM it may be a 1.5" gun with my poor marksmanship. But if I build a 8 pound hot loaded 243 Win, it may be a 0.5" gun with my poor marksmanship.

I agree, and Brux has backed what they make. Example: I ordered a #2, 25 caliber barrel for a lightweight 257 Roberts. I looked at the barrel before taking it to the smith who was chambering and installing the barrel and really didn't pay close attention. I got the rifle back and other than doing the chambering and installation, nothing else was done to the barrel. I set the rifle next to a rifle with a #3 Brux on it and the new one's taper was larger than the #3!
I called Brux and talked to Ken. I told him the story and he wanted photos of the rifles side by side. I sent them and Ken called back. He said that the barrel on the 257 was certainly not a #2 and said he was sending one to me with the right taper. I asked him if he wanted me to have the original barrel removed and sent back to them. He said no, keep it. Now I did have money into the 257, but after shooting the rifle, I am sure glad he didn't want the barrel back. Although heavier than I wanted, the rifle is among the best shooting rifles I own. Plus, I was able to make a 25-06 with the second barrel!
just started working on my newly built 257 Weatherby mag. Brux barrel 28 inch,7 1/2 twist , #4 contour with my reamer machine work done by Greg Walstrom , i used a Weatherby mark 5 action ,the rifle is my new goat rifle for antelope . so this rifle has a 200 yard zero holds a 5 shot just under 1 inch at 200 yards with 100 gr. Hammer bullets that average 3680 FPS. As far as i am concerned that`s good enough i only have a 5.5-22 x56 Nightforce , now its time to see what it will do at 400 - 500 -600 yards , with wind at 300 yards it was 2 and 3 inch groups - 3 shots only taken each time
Little different application but it really proves how consistent their barrels are though. Majority of the smokeless muzzleloader builders throw Brux out there a lot because of their consistency. When shooting a “land riding” sized bullet that’s ran through a sizing die it’s really hard to get the sizing right if the barrel has tight spots in it. Brux is one of the few manufacturers that you can size a bullet and push it all the way through the barrel and it feels basically the same from one end to the other. Mine shoots really well and I just ordered another to build a 338RPM, so hopefully they don’t let me down this time either.
I just broke in a 24” fluted .25 Cal Brux stainless #3 . Chambered in 25 Creedmoor. The barrel is fast! Cleans up super quick and it’s spooky accurate. It has already delivered its share of 3 shot groups at 300 yards under a inch. The best so far being a .453 inch group @ 300 yards. I’m getting 3172 FPS with a Berger 115gr on top of H-4350. Looking forward to shooting a couple mule deer with it here shortly.
