What is on the barrel of the 1911 in the picture of the top of the gun

Hello Weimguy, I got up to check the pistol out. In the picture it appears like there is something on the barrel by the ejection port. Actually it is a cut away to help with the ejected cases. I have never noticed it before. I wiped off anything else that was on there.
