I have one Shilen. No complaints with it and it is not getting replaced. I have five Triggertechs. Might be a story there.

I have Triggertech, Shilen, and a Jewell. The Jewell is probably has the nicest feel but for simplicity I'll take the Triggertech.

I'll take more Timney Calvin Elite Two-stage units please. Perfectly satisfying for my use. Absolutely no negatives. I have zero desire for a better or different experience.

I have a TT Primary on standby but ran into several satisfying Walkers! The horror. A few 700 projects coming up, we'll see.

My first choice would be to adjust the factory trigger. Next choice would be to write down all the options, hang the paper on the wall, and throw a dart at it. All are decent triggers. GD

I have Timneys and a couple rebuilt original 700 triggers. The rebuilt Rems are real good, as are the Timneys.

Thanks again. I’ll check YouTube regarding how to adjust the factory trigger. If problems arise I’ll probably order a TriggerTech. Thanks for all the replies.

I had my Remington factory triggers down to 2.5-2.75lbs.I thought they were good until I tried a Triggertech.I have five of them now.I like their easy installation, frictionless break and the ability to adjust the trigger externally if you want to fine tune it.

The Walker trigger your rifle came with is a good choice—properly adjusted.

A 1998 M700 should have the slot in the bolt for the locking bolt feature. A early safety lever with locking bolt tab will lock the bolt. Trigger Tech and other after market triggers don’t have that feature.

I found instructions on the web and adjusted the factory trigger. Got it between 2.5 and 3 lbs. I’ll shoot it in a few days. Hopefully, problem solved. If it feels the least bit squirrelly I’ll order a TriggerTech. Thanks again for all the responses.
