All I was thinking about back in April when I signed the release to start Chemo was being well enough to be in my treestand for the November Rifle Opener. I'll tell y'all truly: Even two weeks ago I don't think I was ready. However, with #1 Granddaughter, Mooselette spotting me. . . ![[Linked Image from genesis9.angzva.com]](https://genesis9.angzva.com/wp-content/uploads/wppa/4840.jpg) It was a wild trip. I still don't have feeling in my feet, and remnants of Ian were just a few miles to the east and kicking up the wind. However, I got up and back down and back safely to camp. Being a shaman has some strange side effects. One of them is sympathetic magic.
I was sitting at the Thoughtful Spot on Saturday evening, sucking on a dram of Scoresby and I just came to the realization that the outcome of the previous six months had been quite up in the air. Indeed, the trip up the ladder had been quite the challenge itself, and getting there even more so. It was not so easy to admit either that just making it to October 1 had not been such a sure bet.
Still, I had made it. With that thought, I pulled hard on the beaker and looked up. That's when I saw the rainbow.
