Does anyone know for sure if Weatherby makes their own brass or has it private labeled? Years ago, I was under the impression that Norma made it for them. Trying to decide if its worth the extra for a weatherby headstamp or not.

All the adds I looked at on Midway say this

"Produced exclusively for Weatherby by Norma Precision. Brass has CNC-machined primer pockets and is made to match-grade specifications". New unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

It looks like Norma, acts like Norma. Is it better than other brass? Not hardly. What are you looking for and loading for? You don't give specifics. I use R-P, FC, and Weatherby brass in my 300wby. It all works just fine..

Thanks guys.

I have a 300 wby I need to do loads on this winter and trying to procure parts. Looks like currently norma and weatherby available. I'm on a list for Peterson. Wby brand is quite a bit more than norma, so if I go that route, I'd just get the norma. Id prefer Peterson.

I have a pile of very vintage but NOS .300 WBY brass in the cool old boxes that I am going to sell at some point. Norma brass, Weatherby headstamp. Send me a message if interested

That's a long stretch for a .300 Weatherby from a 7mm Rem case. I have made .300 Wbys from 7 STW cases though.

I don't know about you fellow Weatherby users, but I've found a lot of good once fired 300wby brass out there, along with new as well. That's how I'd roll, if I were the OP. One thing about the 300wby, is most of them do not get fired much.

Norma brass is notoriously soft. Not a good match for magnum cartridges in tight tolerance actions. The Norma works great in my Sako 85 300 WSM. In my Borden 300 WSM, the Norma locks the action even on low level loads. RP brass fixed that.
